Ready, Steady, Sew!

start a new autumn sewing project

Can’t believe we are pretty much saying toodles to the summer … well, at least here in England!

But time marches on!

So let’s put a silver lining on the fact that the longer, warmer days are quickly becoming a thing of the past. With the lovely summer hols behind us, personally, I switch into my nesting mode.

This time of year nudges you into dusting off the sewing machine and picking out some choice projects for the autumn and winter. The cooler months are the perfect time to start up some exciting new crafty creations!  I’ve selected some fabrics from my stash for a new quilt.

Sew Liberated and Tilly and the Buttons have gorgeous, wardrobe expanding patterns that will help you to create some lovely garments for the cooler months.

Why not try your hand at stitching together an Ashland Dress using some plum toned gorgeous Andover fabric to create something perfect for the autumn months?  These fabrics would work really well, too, in an autumn quilt.  They just have that cozy look to them!

Who could resist a comfy yet chic Coco dress coupled with the perfect pair of tights, a scarf and a smart blazer to really strut your style?

Make the most of this lovely season when you can still enjoy the outdoors, but things slow down a bit and get you in the mood for creative endeavors!

So what’s on your autumn crafting agenda?  We here at Thread Head Fabrics would love to see your autumn sewing projects!  Please send them along to us and we’ll post them on the blog!
