Noodlehead 241 Tote Pattern
So why is this called a 241 tote? Well, you get to choose from two different styles for your bag; with zips or without, with exterior pockets or without. You can play around with the variations and make several different versions!
Designed for advanced beginners or intermediate sewists, Noodlehead’s 241 Tote pattern has become a bit of a sensation on Pinterest! It’s a perfect design for all of us Thread Heads as it’s a real showcase project for your scrumptious favourite fabrics!
Noodlehead’s designer, American Anna Graham takes you through every step so you can create a gorgeous 241 Tote bag of your own …. or two, or three, or 10!! Be warned, you can become addicted to making these beauties! But lovely Anna truly pays it forward by giving permission for you to sell your finished products created from her patterns. Pretty cool, huh? Not all designers offer this!
Noodlehead recommends using heavy linen, denim, canvas, twill, quilting cotton, or home decor weight fabrics for the bag exterior and medium weight quilting cotton for the interior.
The finished bag is 13.5 inches (34.3 cm) wide x 2.5 inches (6.4 cm) deep across the base and 12 inches (30.5 cm) tall. It is 24 inches (61 cm) tall including the strap.

Oh Thread Heads! This bag is absolutely perfect for making a beautifully functional bag with a fab assortment of fabrics! Mix and match to create something truly unique that flaunts your personal style. Add one zip, two zips or no zips depending on what you fancy! Use solid colours for a more subdued, sophisticated look, or a mix of coordinating prints to make something more vibrant, or go for partially patchwork quilting the bag to give it an interesting texture.
Back when Thread Head Fabrics was just a glint in our eyes, Noodlehead’s 241 Tote was a bit of an obsession with us. We would spend hours on Pinterest – yeah, I know, kind of sad! – just looking at all the gorgeous fabric combinations posted in 241 Tote creations. But if you go and have a look for yourself, you’ll see! You’ll be hooked, too! So do a bit of destashing, grab one of these lovely patterns and make a few!
Noodlehead patterns are the creation of lovely Anna Graham. Multi-talented Anna is not only a pattern designer. She is also an author, a shining new star in the fabric design industry and one cool blogger! Noodlehead gets its name from a nickname for one of Anna’s curly-haired daughters. How cute is that? She has created a lovely assortment of bags so don’t be surprised if you want to make others once you created one!
