Hey Thread Heads! How lovely is this dress? You’ll want to make more than one as it lends itself to being dressy enough for night out or casual enough for a day wear! The elasticated waist makes it oh so comfy and offers wonderful shaping to this simple design. The collar and tie detail make it memorable and you’ll decide which sleeve length you want.
Started in 2007 Sew Liberated is headed by American author, excellent blogger, sewist, teacher, mum and designer Meg McElwee who along with her husband and small, but talented team, has created patterns seeded in the ethos that handmade is the means for liberating yourself. Liberate yourself from what exactly? Liberate yourself from conforming to consumer culture by using traditional means to make something completely unique and modern. She celebrates the joy of the handmade!
Meg calls her style ‘rustic chic’ for those who adore natural designs and fabrics. She loves the satisfaction one gets from making things for yourself – sounds like a true believer in the ‘I Made That’ pride movement, right fellow Thread Heads?!
If you want to sell your creations, you will need to request this directly from Sew Liberated. They are all about independent ‘craftivists’ and will allow stay-at-home-moms, students, artists, etc., to sell items made with their patterns, but you need to ask them first!
