Designed for an intermediate sewist, this stunning pattern will help you to create your own gorgeous 1940’s inspired tea dress!

Sew Over It does a fab job of capturing the essence of the 1940s for the modern woman with a feminine fitted paneled mid-drift and alluring v-neck    The pattern instructions will guide you through the process of constructing your 1940’s Tea Dress, including cuffed, elbow length sleeves and covered buttons.

You can make your 1940’s Tea Dress in sizes 8 to 20.

Size 8:  Bust 32″ (81cm)   Waist 25″ (63.5cm)   Hip 37″ (94cm)

Size 20:  Bust 44″ (112cm)   Waist 37″ (94cm)   Hip 49″ (124.5cm)

Sew Over It recommends woven fabric with drape such as crepe, rayon, satin and silk.

Also, Sew Over It recommends that you have experience working with lightweight, drapey fabrics before you tackle this pattern!

Beautiful 1940’s dress style is so classic it made a comeback again in the 1980’s and has been seen as a timeless popular dress style ever since.  Sew Over It put their own stamp on 1940’s fashion with tailoring details and the accent buttons of this oh-so-lovely dress!

We’re reminded of classic the Golden Age of Hollywood actresses when we see the potential with this pattern.  Think Lana Turner, Ginger Rogers, Lauren Bacall.  Why not throw in some shoulder pads and think Joan Crawford!

Sew Over It is the brainchild of lovely Londoner Lisa Comfort.  She has been sewing since age 11 and studied at the London College of Fashion.  Talented Lisa also is the author of 2 fantastic sewing books.  In order to spread her passion for sewing and hoping to inspire people to take up the craft, she started Sew Over It in 2011.  Lisa and her team offer a variety of brilliant sewing classes for all sewing levels in their London shops in Clapham and Islington.
