So who or what is a Betty anyhow? Sew Over It named this pretty number after the Mad Men television show character, Betty Draper, a 1950s version of a fashion diva who knew how to work the classic styles of the day.
Ok, dear Thread Heads, we have to confess. We’ve never seen the show. Ever! So when we saw the pattern name Betty Dress we instantly thought of the name sometimes given to beautiful, confident women who can do whatever the boys do, but keep their femininity well in check! If someone called you a Betty, that was an uber compliment!
Channel your inner Betty, by either definition, and make a show-stopping dress to pair with flats and a cardigan for a fresh, feminine daytime look, or team it with heels and pearls to make a gorgeous dress for a night out!

Sew Over It recommends 4.5 metres of fabric for all sizes when using 115cm wide fabric or 3 metres of fabric for all sizes if your fabric of choice is 140cm wide. You will need a 16 inch invisible zip, too!
